Projects
Our Projects team are responsible for ensuring that all our change projects and programmes adhere to our governance principles, whilst also project managing some of them throughout the delivery lifecycle.
The Projects team provides assurance that every new initiative is reviewed by the leadership community and any insight, dependencies and risks/issues are captured. We’re here to keep all new projects on track, provide support and guidance, and help communicate the outcome to the wider business.

Meet Tim, Senior Project Manager
“As a member of the Projects team at Merseyrail you will part of a supportive and collaborative group that helps to shape the future of the business. The projects we work on are essential in ensuring better connectivity across the region so that customers benefit from a dependable, accessible, affordable, and integrated network.
As the Senior Project Manager in the team, I am responsible for leading and facilitating our Project Board, where we take project initiation documents and business cases to our Team of Directors for approval. A keen eye for detail is a must and a head for figures is also an asset in the role.
It is a challenging role, but one which is super rewarding and most surprisingly it is a lot of fun too!”

“The Project Manager Office (PMO) is where we establish clear structures, processes, optimise resource utilisation, minimise risks and facilitate efficient communication. As a project manager I have the ability to create order from complexity showcasing effective leadership which aids in project successes.
No two projects are ever the same, each day is different. The thing I enjoy most is working with many different areas of the business in a collaborative way, the fast paced environment and the challenges to use my creativity.”
